Join us for the 24th annual
Unity World Day of Prayer as we
focus on how to be the power
of peace within so that we may
be the presence of peace in all
circumstances. “Peace in the
Midst” is this year’s theme.
On opening night, Wednesday,
September 13, our keynote
presenter will be Rev. Linda
president of Silent Unity and
author of Divine Audacity: Dare to Be the Light of the
World (Hampton Roads, 2015) as well as How to Pray
Without Talking to God (Hampton Roads, 2011). Singer-songwriter Jana Stanfield, well-known in Unity for the
songs “If I Were Brave” and “Let the Change Begin,” will
offer the keynote concert on Thursday evening.
Other activities will include a 24-hour prayer vigil,
the traditional candlelight walk to the Silent Unity
Chapel, a singing bowl meditation, and an all-faiths
prayer breakfast. If you can’t attend in person, watch
the programs live via webcast at worlddayofprayer.org.

Facebook page ( facebook.com/silent.unity).
Comic Books for Children
Unity Village employees raised more
than $1,200 for the “Be a Superhero”
campaign, launched during the Random
Acts of Kindness week in mid-February.
The money went to purchase more than
300 new comic books for patients at
the main campus of Children’s Mercy
Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.
Donations were forwarded to A to Z
Comics, which filled orders for both
children (ages 5-12) and young adults
(ages 13-18). The books were delivered to the hospital and
distributed to patients in late March.
Women’s Time Out This Fall
Unity Village will host A Woman’s Time Out with Karen
Drucker and Lori Sandstrom September 22–24. Drucker and
Sandstrom will teach participants to slow down and look
within so they can connect with their authentic voice and
redefine what it means to be who they came here to be. The
event will include meditation and prayer to activate women’s
inner wisdom as well as music to inspire, heal, and reprogram
their emotional DNA. Learn more at
